Celebrating Wellness: International Yoga Day at Fathima Memorial Training College On June 20, 2025, Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, came together to celebrate International Yoga Day with a peaceful and inspiring session organized by the NSS Unit (KL-07-178). Held in the Seminar Hall, the event saw enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty, all united in the spirit of wellness. The session was led by renowned yoga instructor S. Vijayakumari, who gently guided everyone through a series of yoga postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. Centered around the theme “Find your peace, one breath at a time,” the program highlighted the importance of making yoga a part of everyday life—for better health, stress relief, and inner balance. The calm, focused energy in the hall served as a reminder of the power of mindfulness and the value of holistic well-being in our academic journey.

"Vayana Dinam, organized by FMTC Mylapore, was a resounding success! Principal M Omanasheelan's insightful speech highlighted the importance of effective reading habits and content perception. The department-wise reading tests encouraged students to participate and assess their skills. As part of the NSS initiative, books were donated to AKM HSS students, promoting literacy and giving back to the community. This event fostered a culture of reading and learning, and we're proud to have been a part of it.

Curved surface (E-content) As part of our B.Ed. curriculum, I created an e-content video on "Curved Surface" from the Class 9 SCERT textbook chapter on prisms. The video explains the concept of curved surfaces, including unrolling a curved surface to visualize its area and calculating the curved surface area. FMTC Mylapore celebrated Sports Day at Younus Engineering College grounds! The event was inaugurated by Anzar Younus from our college management, followed by a speech from our Principal. We had a range of exciting events: 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m running races, javelin throw, shotput, discus throw, standing jump, and walking, relay. Students participated enthusiastically, representing their respective houses. Kaveri House emerged as the champions, followed closely by Mandakini and Alakananda Houses. Winners were felicitated with medals, making the day truly unforgettable

World Environment Day 2025: A Green Step Toward a Better Tomorrow Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, celebrated World Environment Day on June 5, 2025, with a vibrant, eco-conscious event organized by the NSS Unit of FMTC. Held at the college campus and Nakshatra Vanam, Children’s Park, Kollam, the event began at 11 AM and carried the powerful theme “Save Planet, Ditch Plastic.” The celebration featured sapling planting and meaningful conversations around sustainability, aiming to inspire small actions for lasting environmental change. Led by Principal Dr. M. Omanaseelan and Programme Officer Smt. Asha Rani P, with strong support from student coordinators Ragesh Nair R S and Arunima M Das, the day reflected the college’s deep commitment to creating a greener future.

The festivities didn't stop there - we also enjoyed vibrant cultural programs featuring captivating dance and song performances. To top it off, delicious snacks were served, bringing everyone together in a spirit of unity and celebration.
