Fathima Memorial Training College held a five-day community camp, Sahasrayam, blending learning with service. The event opened with a prayer by Sreelekshmi and a welcome by Vice Principal Anupama Miss. Principal Dr. Omana Sheelan highlighted the value of such camps in shaping socially responsible teachers. MLA Vishnunadh inaugurated the camp, inspiring students with his words and even a song. Adding flavor, the students hosted Samrudhya, a Payasam Mela featuring a variety of payasams that reflected teamwork and togetherness. The inaugural session ended with felicitations and a warm vote of thanks by Krishna Sree.
The afternoon and evening sessions deepened the experience. Jayasagar Sir’s Team Tango kept participants engaged with games, discussions, and life lessons, while an educational survey at Mayyanad and Thrikkovilvattam Panchayats connected students with real community needs. By identifying those in need of educational support, the trainees experienced the true purpose of teaching—service, empathy, and social commitment. Sahasryam thus became a memorable step in their journey as future educators.
The second day of Sahasryam began with an energetic fitness session that set a lively tone for the day. Students then attended an inspiring talk on “Crafting Careers: From Aspiration to Achievement” by teacher motivator Nazim Yahia, which encouraged them to dream big and stay committed to their goals. His words highlighted the importance of determination and self-belief in shaping successful futures, leaving the participants motivated and energized.
The afternoon sessions celebrated creativity and compassion. Satheesh Kochunarayan’s session, “Craftopia: A World of Handmade Wonders,” introduced students to the beauty of crafts and their role in preserving tradition. Later, the trainees visited Sadhanam, the Government Old Age Home at Anchalummood, where they spent meaningful time with the residents, sharing warmth and empath.Then a visit to beach it was refreshing
The third day of Sahasryam was a vibrant mix of health, learning, and cultural joy. The morning began with a refreshing yoga session that promoted mindfulness and well-being, setting a calm yet energetic tone for the day. A nutritious breakfast followed, preparing the participants for the activities ahead. One of the major highlights was the medical camp organized at N.S. Hospital, offering services in Ophthalmology, ENT, General Medicine, and Dental care. It provided valuable health support while also reflecting the camp’s commitment to community welfare.
The afternoon focused on professional growth through a keynote session by E.K. Jijan, Associate Professor at Mount Tabor Training College, Pathanapuram, on “Building Bonds: People Skills in the Life of a Pedagogue.” The talk emphasized the importance of communication and relationships in a teacher’s life. The evening shifted to celebration with “Kappayum Curriyum,” a cultural event sponsored by the Principal of FMTC, which brought students together in the spirit of festivity. The Onam Mood On decoration added beauty and warmth to the atmosphere, rounding off a day that blended wellness, service, knowledge, and cultural spirit.

Onam 2025
The Onam day at Fathima Memorial Training College began in a burst of colors and cheer as students stepped into traditional attire, ready to embrace the spirit of the festival. The morning started with a hearty Kerala breakfast that set the tone for a day of joy and celebration. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Ajay Chandran, Film Chamber Secretary, whose presence, along with the Principal’s warm Onam message, filled the gathering with festive spirit. Competitions like Malayali Manka showcased talent in dance and music, while the NSS program officers spread happiness by distributing Onam kits. The highlight of the afternoon was the grand Onam Sadhya, served on banana leaves, where everyone savored the authentic flavors of Kerala’s tradition.
The celebrations continued with vibrant cultural and fun-filled events. The Vanchi Patt competition brought cultural depth, while games like musical chairs spread laughter across the crowd. The evening unfolded with tea, snacks, and the much-awaited Fusion Ganamela, which filled the air with soulful melodies. With traditional rituals, cultural programs, and joyful togetherness, Onam 2025 at FMTC was truly an unforgettable celebration of Kerala’s heritage and spirit of unity.
The final day of Sahasryam was marked with excitement as the students set out on a one-day trip to Thenmala and Palaruvi. The journey began early in the morning, filled with cheer and anticipation. At the Thenmala Eco-Tourism spot, the group explored the scenic beauty, nature trails, and attractions that highlighted the harmony between adventure and conservation. It was a refreshing experience that blended learning with leisure, allowing everyone to appreciate the wonders of nature.
From there, the trip continued to the majestic Palaruvi Waterfall, where the cascading waters and lush greenery offered a breathtaking sight. The cool breeze and natural charm of the place created memorable moments for all, strengthening the bond among participants. The trip was not just a joyful conclusion to the camp but also a reminder of the importance of connecting with nature. With laughter, togetherness, and cherished experiences, the camp came to a fulfilling close at Palaruvi.
