Teaching phase 1 week 2 On the fifth day of my teaching practice, the school celebrated National Moon Day, which brought a cheerful and educational atmosphere. A quiz competition based on the moon was conducted, and students actively participated, making the event enjoyable and informative. During the sixth period, I taught the topic “Squares of Sums” from the unit Special Numbers to class VIII B. I explained the concept clearly, and the students listened attentively and responded well to the questions. The day concluded at 4:05 PM, and overall, it was a fulfilling experience that combined both learning and celebration. On the sixth day of my teaching practice, after the morning assembly, I went to my class where I had my first period. As part of the B.Ed. curriculum, the student teachers of Fathima Memorial Training College (FMTC), Mylapore organized a school-based activity at A.K.M. Higher Secondary School, Mylapore on 21st July 2025 in connection with the National Moon Day celebration. The programme aimed to create awareness about space science and astronomy among students and to promote learning beyond textbooks. A quiz competition on the theme “Exploring the Moon and Space” was conducted, beginning with a brief introduction highlighting the significance of National Moon Day and the historic Apollo 11 mission. Students participated enthusiastically in teams, demonstrating curiosity, teamwork, and presence of mind while answering questions related to space science, astronauts, and major space missions. Teaching practice phase one 📖 👩‍🏫 from 14 july 2025 - 17th July 2025 Entering the field of education means taking on the responsibility of guiding and shaping the thoughts and values of young learners. A teacher should embody qualities that encourage and inspire students to embrace learning as a lifelong journey. As part of our curriculum, we began the first phase of our teaching practice on 14th July 2025. I selected AKMHSS, Mylapore as my practice school for this phase. The first day of my teaching practice was on 14th July 2025. I reached the school by 9:15 a.m. and proceeded to the Headmistress’s room to sign the attendance register. My first class was scheduled during the 6th period in 8th B, where I began teaching the chapter on square identities. To enhance the students' understanding, I used a chart as a visual aid, which helped in explaining the concept more effectively. Exposure to curriculum development  As part of the B.Ed. curriculum, we had a work Exposure  to Curriculum Development. For this, I selected the topic "Circle Measures" from Class 9. I studied the existing lesson and then redesigned the content in a more engaging and student-friendly manner. I included key concepts, relevant pictures, and clear examples to help students understand the topic better.
