School Based Activity

As part of the B.Ed. curriculum, the student teachers of Fathima Memorial Training College (FMTC), Mylapore organized a school-based activity at A.K.M. Higher Secondary School, Mylapore on 21st July 2025 in connection with the National Moon Day celebration. The programme aimed to create awareness about space science and astronomy among students and to promote learning beyond textbooks. A quiz competition on the theme “Exploring the Moon and Space” was conducted, beginning with a brief introduction highlighting the significance of National Moon Day and the historic Apollo 11 mission.

Students participated enthusiastically in teams, demonstrating curiosity, teamwork, and presence of mind while answering questions related to space science, astronauts, and major space missions. The event created a lively and intellectually stimulating atmosphere, enhancing students’ interest in astronomy and scientific learning. Winners were appreciated, and all participants were encouraged for their active involvement. Overall, the programme successfully inspired scientific curiosity and contributed to the intellectual and personal development of the students through an enjoyable and participatory learning experience.
