Innovative work ( semester 3)
Innovative education is a creative, learner-centered approach that makes the learning process more engaging, meaningful, and interactive. It emphasizes new ideas, teaching aids, and hands-on strategies that help students explore and understand concepts rather than simply memorize them. Through the use of models, activities, and visual tools, it simplifies abstract ideas and fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and active classroom participation.
In the B.Ed curriculum, innovative work connects theory with practice by guiding pre-service teachers to create effective, learner-focused teaching aids. These innovations address different learning styles and align with the constructivist approach, enabling learners to construct knowledge through experience. Moreover, such practices enhance key teaching skills such as creativity, communication, and adaptability—qualities essential for effective and modern classroom teaching.
For this purpose I created a working model to help students understand the outer angle of a triangle. It is a colorful triangular setup on a decorated base with all the sides and angles clearly labeled. A simple syringe-and-tube mechanism lets the triangle’s flaps move, so students can see how the outer angle actually forms.
This model makes it easy to understand that the outer angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of the two opposite inner angles. With bright colors, shiny borders, and a hands-on approach, it captures students’ attention and encourages them to explore and learn actively. It is a small tool that turns an abstract concept into something students can see, touch, and truly understand.
