Teaching practice phase 2 👩🏫week 1📚5/11/2025-7/11/2025
Teaching practice phase 2
Teaching practice represents a vital milestone in the journey toward becoming an effective educator. It provides rich, hands-on experience in understanding classroom dynamics and exploring diverse teaching methodologies. The second phase of teaching practice allows trainee teachers to implement innovative strategies, manage varied classroom situations, and further develop their instructional skills. This stage highlights the importance of reflection, helping teachers evaluate their performance and make necessary improvements to better address students’ learning needs. Overall, it plays a key role in building confidence, strengthening professional competence, and shaping a strong foundation for a successful teaching career.
The second phase of my teaching practice began on 5th November 2025. I chose to continue at the same institution as in my first phase—AKMHSS Mylapore. Before the commencement of the practice, the subject teachers allotted portions to each of us, enabling thorough preparation and ensuring that we could begin our lessons effectively from the very first day.
The first day of my second phase of teaching practice was on 5th November 2025. I reached the school by 9:15 a.m. and proceeded to the Headmistress’s room to sign the attendance register. My first class was during the 1st period in 8th B, where I began teaching the topic “Ratio.” I adopted the Concept Attainment Model to introduce the concept in an interactive and engaging manner. To make the lesson more effective, I used charts to present positive and negative examples and also displayed the concept in a chart for better visualization and understanding.I completed my duties for the day and left the school by 4:15pm
The second day of my teaching practice was on 6th November 2025. I reached the school by 9:20 a.m. and marked my attendance in the Headmistress’s room. During the 3rd period, I taught Class VIII-B the topic “Multiplicative Comparison” under the unit Ratio. I used ICT to display the topic and explain examples, which made the lesson more engaging and clear. The students participated actively, and I left the school by 4:15 p.m.
On the third day of my teaching practice, I reached the school by 9:15 a.m. I had only one class during the first period, where I taught the algebra portion from the chapter “Ratio.” The students listened attentively and participated actively in the class. It was a simple and pleasant day at school. The school concluded by 4.15pm
